The 100-Fan Reward

Alright, everyone! I've made a decision on what I'm going to do for the 100-fan reward. Since It's taken me so long to get this far, I don't think it seems fair to just throw up a sketch or two. So, I'm gonna do something a bit more interactive.

From the time Saturday's comic goes up (7:00 AM Pacific time), you will have 24 hours to PM me with a drawing request. It can be anything from a collection of characters to a mini-comic! Once I've collected all the requests, I will take a day or two to decide what to draw for each one, and then I will start to draw them in the order they were requested. As long as my internet connection works on my tablet, I will be hosting Join.Me sessions while I work on these drawings! ISN'T THAT EXCITING??

1. You have to have been an active participant in the comic's history! This means you are actually one of the 100 fans and have commented before. I recognize most of the screen names of the active commenters, so basically if I recognize your screen name you're in.
2. I will only accept a request that has an actual suggestion in it. I need some sort of actual details--characters, specific poses, dialogue.... That doesn't mean you have to write out every little detail, but I won't take "Tyton" or "whatever".
3. Due to the current layout of the site and the fact that I hate changing the size of my Paint canvas, your request will have the same width and maximum length as one of my comic pages.
4. I'll be sticking to the tools of the trade for my comic--AKA no color or fancy paint brush tools. Sorry, no rainbows.
5. Please keep the request appropriate. I won't create anything with swearing or excessive sexuality. I reserve the right to decide if your suggestion goes too far, and if I'm willing to edit it or will have to reject it completely.
6. I reserve the right to not complete all the requests. This is because I have an actual comic to draw, plus classes and such. However, I doubt I will feel the need to do this, as most drawings don't take me very long. Also, if I do decide to cut the list short, I will not pick and choose what to draw--I will just stop at a certain point on the list. So if I don't draw your suggestion, it's not cuzz it wasn't a good idea--you were just really late. =P Like I said, though, I probably won't need to reject anything.
7. If multiple suggestions are too similar to each other, I'll combine them and give everyone who requested it credit. If you want to avoid that, feel free to make a secondary suggestion. =)
8. Original characters are entirely at my discretion. I'm a little hesitant to do OC's because I don't know the entirety of your guys' mental worlds, so I'm afraid I won't do the characters justice. So, you can suggest I draw something with an OC, but I can't guarantee I'll draw it. It basically comes down to how well that character would fit with my own world (for example, something like a Sonic recolor OC wouldn't work ever)and how well you're able to explain your character so I can draw/write them adequately. The reason for this is that I like to try and keep the entire comic's site as close to canon as possible, so just think about how plausible it would be for this person to exist in the same world as Ty and the gang. Use the same discretion when thinking about the situation, too. I can work with you if your suggestion is sort of feasible.

Thank you so much, everyone. This comic wouldn't be nearly as fun to make without you guys.[b]

@Zelkova Yeah, basically. XD

Think of it as like a Kickstarter project! Donating $1 is obviously awesome, but the rewards are saved for the people who go above and beyond. So this fun little event is equivalent to that. That doesn't mean I don't appreciate all the anonymous fans, though. =)

Also, @jerqod and @Thunderbolt, I know for sure I've seen your comments. =) @Nekomata-chan, I haven't seen you around, but since you were the first one to ask about it I'll let it slide. Sorry I took so long to let you guys know. D=

Ginchiyo, November 28th, 2012, 9:24 am

The party was my idea. This'll be fun.

I'm not sure if I've commented here before, but I've been a long time lurker. xD Anyway, just stopping by to say congrats on the 100 fans. Keep it up!

@Nekomata: same here

Thunderbolt, November 30th, 2012, 2:50 pm

Yeah, I don't know if you'll recognise me anyway. I think I have commented once or twice... I hope...

Just my two cents but to those who been watching and somewhat disappointed that they can't do this little event because they never posted I see it this way: It is one thing to watch a comic and just be one of hundreds faceless people who may or may not even still be active but it is a totally different story when you let the creator be aware that people are actively enjoying his comic and wish for him to keep doing what he is doing.

Not saying that watching someone isn't nice by itself, I just saying that opinions and even simple discussions can drive a person going while a digit may have only a minor if any effect at all.

It's alright. xD I don't really mind. I'm a lazy lurker and can't deny it. I was just stopping by to say congrats on 100 fans. ^_^ That's quite a feat for any web comic here on SJ. That, and it's true- getting comments is far more rewarding than a mere fan-count.

Keep up the good work! I enjoy seeing a comic that updates daily. I follow a large number of comics and this is the only one I can count on being updated most days of the year. I know some people spend ages on each page and that it isn't always easy to maintain an update schedule.

Anyway, you may or may not see me around. xD I've been slowly trying to comment more around SJ lately- starting with one comic at a time. It just feels so weird talking with people I don't know who may or may not read what I post. ^_^' Good luck!
